About
I received my Bachelor’s in Film from UC Santa Cruz in 2002 and got my first job at Warner Brothers Studios in Burbank, CA in 2002 where I worked in development for a year before deciding to go into the post production field the following year. I got a job at a small production house that specialized in producing reality television pilots. This is where I truly learned my trade — editing down hundreds of hours of footage into 28 minute segments.
I’ve been a freelance editor for multiple media industry giants such as Conde Nast Entertainment, Universal Music Group, Capitol Records, Hulu, Discovery, History Channel & Bravo and others cutting principally unscripted documentary, reality/competition series and branded content.
In 2005 I was admitted to UCLA’s prestigious School of Film & Television and received my MFA in Directing in 2008. I received positive recognition for my work including an award from the National Association of Theater Owners Award for Directing (2008) for my film “Code Duello” (2008).
Most encouragingly, I was given the opportunity to develop several television projects for the FX Network, Haven Entertainment, Trailer Park and have had representation for my projects at both the William Morris Agency and more recently at Range Media Partners.
In 2012, I got my first taste of sentence mitigation filmmaking when an attorney with the Federal Public Defender asked me to prepare a “video” for her client convicted of assault. I found the work utterly fascinating and decided that I would try and find a way to do it full time. By 2015 I had managed to become a full time mitigation film expert. I have worked on both state and federal cases ranging from violent crime and drug trafficking to white collar crimes like fraud and copyright infringement.
As a leading expert in this field I have held trainings, seminars and CLEs nationwide for NACDL, The Bar Association, NASAMS, Brooklyn Defenders, Federal Defender Training Services and others.
I am currently working on a feature documentary film about “Title IX’s Due Process Crisis” which I hope to release in 2026.
